Sasha Zack, Therapist in Training
I work with the conviction that as we explore the suffering that life inevitably affords us, it becomes possible to know ourselves with greater depth and intimacy. As a depth psychotherapist-in-training, it is my privilege to descend with clients into the raw material of their experience—powerful emotions, memories, and dreams. Together, in the security of our therapeutic relationship, we patiently encounter what is without judgement.
Our work might begin in the sludge of everyday burdens, or in painful things that have happened to us and which threaten to drag us downwards. When we attend to these tensions with compassion, we might grow our capacity to love, to work, and to serve as stewards of our inner life.
I am a member of the Canadian Association of Psychodynamic Therapists and a therapist-in-training at the Centre for Training in Psychotherapy, a six-year program which focuses on psychotherapy in its relational and psychodynamic dimensions. My practice is undergirded by my own personal, ongoing psychotherapeutic work—a testament to my belief that we never stop developing. I am informed by Jungian psychoanalytic tradition, and hold a profound faith in the healing potential of attending to dreams.
